Description
Bellflowers (Campanula) are distributed across the temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere, with the highest diversity in the Mediterranean region east to Russia and extending to parts of northeastern Turkey and northern Iran. The species consist of annual, biennial, and perennial plants, and vary from dwarf arctic and alpine species under 5 cm high, to large temperate grassland and woodland species growing to 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) tall. The five-lobed corolla flowers are typically large (2–5 cm or more long), mostly blue to purple, sometimes white, or pink. “Bellflowers by Fence Post,” is a hand-painted digital painting and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 3/12/2021.
