Bellflowers (Campanula) are distributed across the temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere, with the highest diversity in the Mediterranean region east to Russia and extending to parts of northeastern Turkey and northern Iran. The species consist of annual, biennial, and perennial plants, and vary from dwarf arctic and alpine species under 5 cm high, to large temperate grassland and woodland species growing to 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) tall. The five-lobed corolla flowers are typically large (2–5 cm or more long), mostly blue to purple, sometimes white, or pink. “Bellflowers by Fence Post,” is a hand-painted digital painting and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 3/12/2021.
Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
