Description
The Bohemian Waxwing summers in the subarctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere covering much of Alaska, Canada, Iceland, the north of Scandinavia, Siberia, and the Shetland Islands. In winter these birds become sociable drifters, with large flocks wandering the northwest in search of berries. Sometimes they stray as far east as New England. The name "Bohemian" reflects their unconventional and seemingly carefree lifestyle. Waxwings thrive on seeds and berries, but also consume mosquitos and other insects during the breeding season. Because of their bold colors and sleek appearance, I chose theses handsome waxwings for this work of art. – Spadecaller
