Description
In 1979 on Long Boat Key, Florida, I observed a wild flock of parakeets (Budgerigars) chattering and squawking loudly in a kumquat tree as the sun was setting. Since that time I have seen these wonderful birds flying wild throughout many areas in Florida and I have always enjoyed creating artwork that featured these amazing birds. Image created from Layered photographs and digital painting techniques rendered in Photoshop.
Information about the artist, this image, and its creation: I am an old school painter with several years of traditional experience. In recent years, I (and many other artists), have developed their talent by using software to create digital art that is unique. The picture that is presented here, never existed in real life as a photograph captured by the lens of a camera. This image started with a composite of photos and digitally hand-painted images that were first layered in Photoshop. The final outcome is a unique image entirely. If you enlarge the image sufficiently, you will observe brush stokes and colors that were not produced by any camera or by a paint brush. These strokes are painted by hand through the use of digital software. I love and respect the art of photography and traditional art forms. However, the creation of this image exists beyond what the camera photographs. This is an alternative dimension of visual art that falls outside photography and outside the scope of oils, charcoal, pastels, acrylics, or watercolor. I hope that this vital and distinct form of art will continue to gain wider acceptance and respect among art enthusiasts and fellow artists . ~ Spadecaller
