Artist's Description

The Veiled Chameleon is native to the Arabian Peninsula in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. They are known for dramatic color changes that are triggered by several factors that include aggression, social status, reproduction, and stress. The veiled chameleon is primarily insectivorous, however, to obtain water during droughts they will also eat plant matter. They are easily bred in captivity and are popular in the pet trade. The chameleon featured in this image is poised in a guava tree patiently waiting to catch the grasshopper. “Chameleon and Guava Tree” is a mixed media image and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 5/13/2022.
