It is late February and my Meyer lemon tree is already blooming. In Florida, spring comes early. It was only weeks ago, when my wife and son covered the tree to protect it from freezing temperatures. Consequently, many leaves turned yellow and fell off. After the typical warm Florida weather returned, new leaves quickly sprouted all over the tree. Now it is blooming. A friendly green lizard stands guard. “Florida Lemon Tree” is a fusion of digital art and photography.
Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
