Artist's Description
On March 12, 1930 Mahatma Gandhi set out with 78 supporters on a 241 mile journey to the sea. On April 6th - 24 days later, the history of the world changed when the small man with the walking stick broke British law, as he kneeled down and picked up a chunk of salt on the sea coast near the village of Dandi. "Gandhi Walking to the Sea" is a hand-painted digital image and photo composite created in Spadecaller's Florida Studio.
