Description
The genus of geraniums consists of 422 species of annual, biennial, and perennial plants. They are found mostly in the eastern part of the Mediterranean regions, the temperate regions of the world, the mountains, and the tropics.
At least several species of Geranium have both female and hermaphrodite flowers on the same plant. Geraniums are eaten by the larvae of some butterfly and moth species. The master predator, the mantis, waits patiently under the geranium blossoms for its unsuspecting prey. This is a hand-painted digital image created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 11/29/2020.
