The immigrant family separation policy, according to President Trump, is designed to deter the illegal immigration of Hispanics at the southern border. Despite the abuse of human rights that this policy creates for all immigrants, many legal asylum seekers are also detained.Imprisoning immigrants and separating children from their families is an unconscionable abuse of human rights. Incidents of sexual abuse and ridicule from ICE workers are being reported. In addition to hunger, expired food, overcrowded chain-linked cages, sleeplessness, and unhealthy living conditions, negligent medical care has even led to several deaths. In accordance with internationally accepted rights of the child, immigrant and refugee children should be treated with dignity and respect and should not be exposed to conditions that may harm or traumatize them. Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
