Description
Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing on earth before bees did, the magnolia is theorized to have evolved by attracting pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the flower pistils are extremely tough. Fossilized specimens of this ancient tree have been found dating back to 20 million years ago. Basking in the splendor and fragrance of the stately magnolia blossom, a tree frog awaits its prey. “Magnolia and Tree Frog,” is a mixed media digital painting and photo composite created by Spadecaller.
