Artist's Description

The Indian paradise flycatcher is native to the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia and Myanmar. They are migratory birds and spend the winter season in tropical Asia. Paradise flycatchers are monogamous. Females select males based on their tail length. As their name suggests, paradise flycatchers are insectivores, feeding on a variety of insects, usually obtained on the wing. In this mixed media and hand-painted digital image, the birds are perched on a red passion flower vine. Copyrighted image created in Spadecaller’s Florida studio.
