Alstroemeria, commonly called the Peruvian lily is a genus of long-lived flowering perennial plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae. They are all native to South America although some have become naturalized in the United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Madeira and the Canary Islands. More than 190 cultivars and many hybrids have been developed, presenting many different markings and colors, including white, yellow, orange, apricot, pink, red, purple, and lavender. “Peruvian Lily Botanical” is a digital composite created from original Spadecaller photographs.
Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
