Description
The bald eagle was revered as a sacred symbol by most native American cultures; it is only befitting the artist presents the bird with a Sioux Brave - two noble hunters. The image of this native American was derived from a public domain government photo taken in 1899. There are about 150,000 Sioux Indians remaining. Some live-in white towns and cities, and some on the reservations, which is a small part of the country that they once inhabited. Only 14% can speak their own language, which was not allowed to be taught at school till 1978. “Sioux Brave and Eagle,” is a hand-painted digital image, portrait, and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 6/15/2021.
