Description
The falcon is a natural wonder of speed, power, beauty, and ferocity that has become embedded in human cultures in many ways: a sacred god, a military tool, and a solar emblem of triumph – just to name a few. As a bird of prey, the falcon possesses exceptional hunting abilities. They have exceptional powers of vision; the visual acuity has been measured at 2.6 times that of a normal human. With their keen eyesight, they can target prey while they soar above at high speeds. In fact, the fastest-moving creature on earth is the falcon diving at speeds of 200 miles per hour (320 km/h) and cruising easily at 60 mph. “The Falcon,” is a hand-painted digital image with background elements derived from winter landscapes painted by Johann Jungblut (1860 -1912). This image was created in Spadecaller's Florida studio on 12/13/2019.
