Description
Daffodils do not only grow in gardens; they also grow wild in the countryside. Also known as Narcissus pseudonarcissus, their beauty and scent have made them popular for thousands of years. Daffodils are also known as the wild narcissus or Lent lilies. The strong association of the Daffodil with Easter is derived from its symbolic association with “Re-birth” and “New beginnings.”
This picture depicts the lamb and the daffodils, both of which symbolize peace, spirituality, and purity. In many cultures the symbolic value of the daffodil expresses deep and hidden emotions. In Christianity, the lamb represents Christ as both suffering and triumphant; it is typically a sacrificial animal, and may also symbolize gentleness, meekness, innocence, and forgiveness. “The Lamb and Wild Daffodils,” is a digital painting and composite created by Spadecaller.
