Description
Common in eastern deciduous forests and a frequent visitor to garden feeders, the tufted titmouse is the most widespread species in the country. This North American songbird in the chickadee family is known for its friendly demeanor. These very social birds will even take peanuts from the hand of a patient admirer. In fact, to my surprise, while I was looking for suitable subjects to photograph at John Chestnut State Park in Florida, my wife was standing beside me with a titmouse eating cracked peanuts from her hand. “Tufted Titmice and Rhododendron,” is a digital painting created in Spadecaller’s Florida studio.
