Description
Throughout North America, the Caribbean, and northern South America, the Yellow warbler is a widespread inhabitant. Other than the Gulf of Mexico coast, these birds breed in most of North America. The American yellow warbler is an insectivorous species, which preys on the coffee berry beetle and effectively safeguards the Costa Rica coffee plantations from infestation. Yellow Warblers spend the breeding season in thickets, along streams and wetlands. They are often found among willows, but also live in dwarf birch stands in the tundra. In the Rockies, they are found among the aspen trees and beside the edges of fields in the East, where you may find them among alder or dogwood as well as orchards and blueberry bogs. “Warblers and Birch,” is a hand-painted digital image and photo composite created Spadecaller’s Florida Studio.
