Description
Gladiolus is a genus of perennial bulb flowering plants in the iris family. The gladiolus is also called the Sword Lily. The blossoms measure up to 4 inches in diameter and provide cut blooms that last up to two weeks. The genus occurs in Asia, Mediterranean Europe, South Africa, and tropical Africa. The spectacular giant flower spikes grown commercially are the products of centuries of select hybridization. In addition to white, a vast range of ornamental flower colors are available. “White Sword Lily” is a hand-painted digital image and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 6/6/2021.
