Artist's Description

The wood duck is a species of perching duck found in North America. It is one of the most colorful North American waterfowl. Florida is home to both year-round (resident) and migratory wood ducks. They inhabit wooded, bushy, or other vegetated wetland areas. The wood duck nests in tree cavities near lakes, rivers, ponds, and other wetland areas. This image is a hand-painted digital photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida studio.

Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
