Woodland Phlox is native to eastern North American as well as presented as an ornamental to use in cultivated gardens for its heavenly bluish flowers. This herbaceous perennial can be found flourishing in dappled shade in open woods, in meadows, at the base of tree trunks, rocks, and along stream banks. Observe these wildflowers blooming from Quebec to Florida and west to Texas and the Rockies in spring to early summer. Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
