An enchanted doe once lived in a dense forest. She was called Yong. When she pranced through the forest everyone was charmed by her beauty. More importantly, Yong was gifted with wisdom; and from her memory of her past life, she had retained the ability to converse in the human language. Knowing the cruelty of some human beings, she avoided any encounter with them. Yet, Yong still felt compassion to all alike.
One day as she rested under a cherry tree, she heard a heart-rending shriek. When she looked in the direction of the sound, she saw a man being swept away by the turbulent waters of the stream. Witnessing his pitiful distress, her heart filled with compassion.
Attempting to rescue him, Yong jumped into the water and ordered the man to cling fast to her. The man panicked. Instead of clinging to her, he climbed onto her delicate back. Struggling with his hefty body the doe bore his heavy weight and brought the man safely onto the river-bank. With her warm care...
Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
