The generic name (Celosia) is derived from an Ancient Greek word meaning "burning," and refers to the flower-heads that look like flames. Celosia is a small genus of edible and ornamental plants in the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. In Indonesia and India, Celosia is known as a good foodstuff. This easily grown edible plant proposes a future benefit in the hot and malnourished regions of the equatorial zone. In that respect, it is considered the perfect vegetable that grows like a weed and does not require the care and cultivation that other vegetable crops require. Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey.
