Artist's Description
Plumbago auriculata (common name blue plumbago), is a species of flowering plant in the family Plumbaginaceae, native to South Africa. This evergreen shrub often grows as a climber in nature, rapidly reaching up to 20 ft. tall by 10 ft. wide but when cultivated as a houseplant it remains much smaller. In temperate regions it may be grown outside in frost free areas. The flower in this digital image was derived from photos of a plant growing on a trellis outside our ground floor window in Florida.
