Description
The lotus flower and Koi fish have several meanings. In Buddhism, the fortune of the lotus flower is derived from its environment. Born into murkiness, the lotus flower is purified as it rises above the murky waters. The lotus flower must rise from the murk to bloom. This is the path of human enlightenment.
Red koi symbolize strength and bravery. The lotus flower and the red koi are more than compatible pond ornaments. The red koi is a colored variety of the carp, a fish endowed with similar qualities of the lotus; it can survive harsh climates and water conditions. The lesson of the koi and the lotus is one of rebirth. Together they transcend their environments and flourish. “Lotus Flower and Koi,” is a hand-painted digital image created in Spadecaller’s Florida studio.
