The blue-rumped parrot is a little parrot (18cm) that is found on the southern tip of Myanmar, peninsular Thailand, Malalysia, Bornea, Sumatra and nearby islands. In flocks of up to 20 birds they inhabit lowland forests, woodland, orchards, plantations, mangroves, dense scrub, and coconut groves. They eat seeds, fruit, and blossoms. The bird featured in this image is perched on a kumquat tree. This is a hand-painted digital image and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 12/28/2020.
About M Spadecaller
Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
