Artist's Description
The Southern Swamp lily is an immersed plant that is frequently found growing in swamps, marshes, and wet hammocks. This Florida native grows inconspicuously along quiet waters throughout much of the Sunshine State. Its native range includes Arkansas, and the southeastern states from North Carolina to Texas. It's also found in Cuba and Jamaica. The elegant white blooms have a sweet fragrance that attract nocturnal hawk moths that pollinate these perennials. “Southern Swamp Lily” is a digital composite and painting created by Spadecaller.
