Artist's Description

https://youtu.be/DSxSIwA2unI
The inspiration behind this digital painting is taken from the lyrics in Leonard Cohen’s song, “The Window.” In “Tangle of Matter & Ghost,” the emptiness that plagues human beings is revealed. The ghost of my soul will haunt my existence, if I lack a real purpose in life. The past is dead matter buried behind me. To move ahead is imperative. I have to look through the window and create my own personal vision. To avoid this spiritual need would drive me to some form of soul sickness. When I lack devotion to a worthy purpose, my soul calls for me to find the willingness to act. Through his music and poetry, Leonard Cohen uncovers the universal need for spiritual liberation. Through this awareness and song, I am reminded that I can emerge from spiritual lassitude by replacing my emptiness with meaning and joy. This is my only true escape from the “Tangle of Matter & Ghost.”
