Product Details

Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

Artist's Description

The budgerigar is a small seed-eating parrot usually nicknamed the budgie, or in American English, the parakeet. The origin of the budgie's name is unknown. First identified in 1805, budgerigars are popular pets around the world due to their small size, inexpensive cost, and outstanding ability to mimic human speech. After the dog and cat, they are the third most popular pet in the world.

The little “Budgie,” native to Australia, is a very popular cagebird, so it was not surprising that many would escape and establish wild colonies in climate friendly areas of California and Florida. The west coast of Florida has a sizable wild population.

In 1979 on Long Boat Key, Florida, I observed a wild flock of parakeets (Budgerigars) chattering and squawking loudly in a kumquat tree as the sun was setting. This was quite a festive gathering!
