The winter plum tree is native to China. During January and February when all the flowers die, and the land is bare and pallid the fragrant blossoms of the Chinese plum tree bloom. This brave flora is considered China’s national flower. Standing against the harsh and undesirable cold, the plum tree signifies perseverance, courage and humbleness. Above all, the flowering plum tree is a messenger of hope; reminding the world of the warm days of spring to come.

Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey.
