Description
Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. The word "Hallowe'en" means "Saints' evening". It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows' Eve. Many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain. It celebrated the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or the 'darker half' of the year.
Halloween events include trick-or-treating, costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, and telling scary stories. This Halloween (2020) is truly one of the scariest due to the pandemic virus. Holiday events will be limited to protect families from the risk of infection. The “Halloween Scarecrow,” is a hand-painted digital image created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio.
