Primula vulgaris, commonly known as the Primrose, is native to west and south Europe (including the UK) and north west Africa. One of the earliest spring flowers to bloom; sometimes known to bloom during the winter. The root of the name Primula is from the Latin name for the Primrose, prima rosa meaning ‘first rose’. Where the winters are long and cold, the exquisite primrose thrives. “Primrose Flower on Window Sill,” is a digital painting and composite created by Spadecaller.
Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
