Description
Spadecaller presents his still life of fruits and flowers. In addition to gaining notoriety during the 16th century, the roots of still life paintings date back to ancient times. The words “still life “are derived from the Dutch word stilleven. Fragile and ephemeral just like a human life, fruit serves as a representation of the transient nature of our existence. In “Table of Fruits” Spadecaller celebrates the earth’s bounty of fresh, colorful, and delectable fruit. The image is a fusion of hand-painted objects and a composite of photographs that was completed in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 3/13/2022.
