Unfortunately, white tigers can only be found in zoos; this is solely because of exploitative breeding programs. Hopefully people will learn not to support the breeding of white tigers. Though these tremendous and beautiful tigers are great attractions, captive inbreeding of white tigers results in high neonatal mortality rates that exceed 80%. To produce one perfect white tiger, the tigers must be inbred multiple times. For exhibitors to market white tigers, only 1 in 30 will survive. The other 29 are usually deformed, die at birth from genetic defects, or are the wrong color; these cubs are all euthanized.
