Description
From India and Sri Lanka throughout northern Indochina and East Asia lotus flowers are frequently displayed as symbols in temples, local artwork, and architecture. In Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries lotus flowers are grown year-round. Lotus blooms are often cut daily outside temples where they are readily available. In 2013, the Vietnamese National Assembly chose the lotus to be the national flower of Vietnam. Each year, the people of Vietnam showcase the lotus when celebrating Vietnam’s declaration of independence in 1945.
To enjoy the sacred lotus as a cut flower, you must grow them--or obtain them locally. Cut lotus flowers are usually not available in North America for events and photography. Fresh cut Lotus flowers create dazzling displays though they are short-lived.
“Purple Lotus Flowers in Vase”, is a hand-painted digital image and photo composite completed in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 11/13/2023.
