Description
The Bluefin Trevally is a predatory fish with a diet dominated by fish and supplemented by cephalopods and crustaceans as an adult. Juveniles feed mostly on small crustaceans, but turn to a fish based diet as they mature. The species utilized various hunting techniques ranging from aggressive midwater attacks, reef ambushes, and snapping up prey items missed by the larger predators they often follow. The species grows to a maximum length of 117 cm (3.8 feet) weighing in at 43.5 kg (95 lbs.). Both commercial and recreational fishermen regard the bluefin trevally as a popular target. Due to overfishing the Hawaiian population has delinced rapidly in recent years, which has led to increased research in the aquaculture potential of the species, with spawning achieved in captivity.
Digitally hand-painted layered photos in the style of ultra- realism.

Information about the artist, this image, and its creation: I am an old school painter with several years of traditional experience. In recent years I (and many other artists), have developed their talent by using software to create digital art that is unique. The picture that is presented here, never existed in real life as a photograph captured by the lens of a camera. This image started with a composite of photos and digitally hand-painted images that were first layered in Photoshop. The final outcome is a unique image entirely. If you enlarge the image sufficiently, you will observe brush stokes and colors that were not produced by any camera or by a paint brush. These strokes are painted by hand through the use of digital software. I love and respect the art of photography and traditional art forms. However, the creation of this image exists beyond what the camera photographs. This is an alternative dimension of visual art that falls outside photography and outside the scope of oils, charcoal, pastels, acrylics, or watercolor. I hope that this vital and distinct form of art will continue to gain wider acceptance and respect among art enthusiasts and artists . ~ Spadecaller
