Description
The black Moor is one of the oldest goldfish breeds. It was first bred in China in the early 1700’s. They were not always called black moors. Originally, the Chinese named them “Dragon Eyes,” because of their protruding telescope eyes, however young Black Moors are born with an amber coloration and have flat eyes. As they age their coloring darkens to a black coloration and their eyes begin to “pop” out. “Young Dragon Eyes,” is a hand-painted digital and mixed media image created in Spadecaller’s Florida studio.
