Description
Lily of the valley (Convallaria) is a sweetly scented, extremely poisonous woodland flowering plant that is native throughout the cool temperate Northern Hemisphere in Asia and Europe. Its French name, muguet, sometimes appears in the names of perfumes that are designed to imitate the flower's scent. Convallaria is an herbaceous perennial plant – a favorite for ground covering in shady locations. By spreading underground stems called rhizomes it forms extensive colonies. Since 1956, several perfumes have been created to replicate the alluring fragrance of this beautiful flower. “Lilies of the Valley” is a hand-painted digital image and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 5/18/2023.
