Description
One of the most beloved flowers in China, the plum blossoms, have been a traditional subject in Chinese painting and poetry for centuries. The Chinese see the plum tree’s blossoms as both a symbol of winter as well as a harbinger of spring.
During the Tang dynasty, new species of parrots were brought in as tribute to the imperial court, first from the newly acquired territories in southwestern China, and later from Southeast Asia. Becoming one of the most sought-after pets, the colorful and exotic parrot became a favorite subject for artists.
Spadecaller introduces his vision of the parrot and plum tree in this hand-painted digital image created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 9/17/2923.
